Our Programs
Ukwakhwa’s programs are primarily focused on serving the Oneida community, including elders, adults, youth, and families. We serve people through educational workshops, culturally prepared meals, crafting classes, and intergenerational events. Our commercial kitchen and farmstead serve as a central hub, while our work also travels through school partnerships, community outreach, and public speaking engagements.
We offer low-cost or free programming to ensure accessibility. For example, our basketry classes incorporate a “sweat equity” model, where students prepare materials themselves, while our food prep classes are offered at grant-subsidized pricing. We also provide media and educational content through platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to reach a wider audience.
