Engagements & Outreach
Led by the Ukwakhwa Team
We offer custom workshops, speaking engagements, and event facilitation led by Becky and Steve Webster, focused on Haudenosaunee foodways, seed sovereignty, and cultural knowledge. Whether on our farm or at your institution, these offerings are grounded in community, storytelling, and hands-on learning.

Why We Do It
At Ukwakhwa, we believe that cultural knowledge is meant to be shared with care, humility, and purpose. We welcome invitations from schools, universities, organizations, and community groups interested in learning more about Indigenous agriculture, food sovereignty, governance, and traditional skills. Our team frequently leads workshops and presentations both on the farm and at off-site events.
Most workshops are taught by Becky and Steve Webster, drawing from our lived experience as Haudenosaunee farmers and educators. Sessions may include:
-
Corn Husk Crafts
Make traditional corn husk dolls, flowers, or hot pads while learning the stories and teachings behind each craft. -
Cooking Workshops
Learn to prepare traditional dishes such as Kanʌstóhale, corn mush, and hull corn using ancestral and modern methods. These workshops are available at our farm kitchen or by arrangement. -
Hands-On Seed or Food Processing Activities
Participate in corn hulling, pounding, and other traditional foodwork connected to our seasonal cycle and seed rematriation efforts. -
Farm Tours with Educational Add-Ons
Bring your group to Ukwakhwa for a guided experience that includes food, storytelling, and cultural teachings connected to our growing spaces.
NOTE: We are booked through June 2026.
